Writers' Nights

Do have a script or scene you would like to get some feedback on from other writers and the Act 2 Team?
Then why not bring it along to our regular writers' night - Write Club!

Write Club in a free playwriting event that runs fortnightly at Nottingham Playhouse on a Monday night from 7 - 9pm. Write Club is here to support local writers by facilitating a group where they can have their work read aloud and then participate in a constructive discussion about the script after. If you don't yet have a script finished or are an actor, director or other theatre-y person then you can always just come down, read a part and contribute feedback and ideas.

The next term (Spring 2017) will start on 6th February.

To participate in Write Club as a writer please bring printed out copies of your chosen scene or extract (up to 15 minutes or 10 pages worth) with enough copies for you to have one plus all of the characters involved. We’ll read this around the table and discuss ideas and thoughts. If you want to come down but are not a writer (i.e. an actor) you’re very welcome but will be made to read a part in a script. We want to people to come down but participating in the event is vital.

On the night we’ll read as many of the scripts as we can aloud and then have a brief chat about it, which will hopefully be useful for developing the piece. If you don’t have anything ready just yet, not to worry! Feel free to come along just to give feedback and read some scripts, and you can bring in some work at a later date if you like.
